A Chiropodist specializes in the assessment and treatment of foot and lower limb conditions. Chiropodists work with a diverse number of conditions in the areas of:

  • Sports injuries
  • Pediatrics
  • Geriatrics
  • Rheumatology
  • Biomechanical and gait analysis
  • Orthotic prescription and fabrication
  • Soft tissue surgery
  • Wound care

A chiropodist is an integral part of a multidisciplinary clinic in promoting mobility and alleviating pain. As a primary healthcare provider, a chiropodist does not require a doctor’s referral.

Sonya Such, Registered Chiropodist

Sonya Such is a licensed member of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario and the College of Nurses of Ontario. Sonya attained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Queen’s University in 1998 and continued her academic journey later in life by achieving an Advanced Diploma of Podiatric Medicine from the Michener Institute in 2010.

During her nursing career, Sonya fulfilled many roles as a public health nurse. To this end, she now shares her mandate for health promotion, injury prevention and health maintenance with her work as a chiropodist.

Sonya’s background in nursing, experience as a healthcare educator and RN supervisor have given her the ability to analyse and recognize the intimate healthcare needs of her clients. She is dedicated to working in a healthcare setting that positively influences the lives of individuals and families.
